Looking forward to the  2017 rebuild of the Bird Center at the Smithsonian National Zoo!

The Smithsonian National Zoo is located in Washington DC. Free admission creates high volumes of tourists from all States and international visitors!

So if you are planning a visit in this month to the Zoo make sure to view the wonderful  birds such as Flamingos, Spoonbills, Cranes, and even the exotics like the Australian southern cassowary.

The Bird area rebuild is a huge project to create new habitats indoors and outdoor dwellings. Many of the small exotic birds have found new homes at other Zoos.

Reading information published by the Friends of the National Zoo, (FONZ). show the new rebuild concept with innovative designs of habitats for  North America species and features American migratory birds.

Plan outlines are on view as one walks around the present Bird Center. Impressions of open spaced environments and interesting friendly habitats.  A welcomed update, especially to educate children about American birds.

My main interest is the Brown Kiwi our Ambassador Birds

All will now be housed at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute’s,(SCBI),this world renowned animal breeding veterinary and reproductive research center is at Front Royal, of the Shenandoah Mountains.

That is where the Brown Kiwi have beautiful habitats with expansive enclosures. The prime role of breeding and the study of the Brown Kiwi.

Thanks for the useful information. This national park is famous for the existence of a migratory bird center. We can come here to see a rich variety of birds. And thanks to this center has helped raise awareness about migratory birds and the need to protect their habitats.
